Fumiaki TANIGAKI is the manager for “Kibo” utilization promotion in the Asia-Pacific region (Senior Engineer) at Kibo Utilization Center of Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).

He has organized many space life science experiments on the Space Shuttle and the “Kibo” Japanese experiment module on the International Space Station (ISS) as a science coordinator. He also developed space experiment facilities and equipment specially used for microgravity research on orbit.

His other job was to conduct some educational projects of microgravity science and technology for young scientists and students using the Drop Tower, the Parabolic Flight, the Space Shuttle, and the ISS.
Now he works for the Kibo Utilization Office for Asia (KUOA) to promote Kibo utilization in the Asia-Pacific region. He has conducted multilateral and bilateral programs with many countries to share and build on the outcomes of Kibo utilization.
